Researchers @ School
Science Comes to Schools
“Researchers in the Classroom” (Researchers at Schools) is an educational initiative that brings biomedical research directly to elementary and high schools to introduce students to science in a practical, accessible, and participatory way.
Through workshops, scientific challenges, meetings with researchers, and outreach activities, students of all ages have the opportunity to discover how health research is conducted and how it impacts daily life.
The initiative fosters direct contact between researchers and the educational community, allowing students to meet real-life scientific role models, participate in hands-on experiences, and gain a closer look at careers related to science, technology, and health.
Furthermore, the activities are designed to be inclusive and participatory, promoting equal opportunities and access to science in various schools across the region.
ACTIVITIES
Scientific workshops and challenges
Hands-on, interactive activities designed to bring biomedical research closer to students. Participants will be able to experiment, solve challenges, and discover the scientific method in a fun and engaging way.
Meetings with researchers
Opportunities for dialogue where students and researchers share experiences, knowledge, and questions about science, health, and STEAM careers.
A challenge for students that invites them to solve problems inspired by real-world issues related to health and biomedical research, fostering creativity, teamwork, and innovation.
Inspiring new generations by bringing science into their everyday lives

Regional Scope
Activities not only in Picanya, but also in municipalities of l’Horta Sud and the southern metropolitan area in the first year, and in the Malilla neighborhood in the second.
Participation of Diverse Audiences
Diverse audiences participate in all activities and workshops.
Other Activities
European Researchers’ Night
Researchers take over the plaza. Booths featuring workshops for elementary school children, hands-on demonstrations, and, as night falls, informative talks for all audiences.
Two editions: 2026 in Picanya (L’Horta Sud) and 2027 in Malilla, Valencia.
